Health & Safety

Chapel Hill ISD is committed to the health and physical development of our students. The School Health Advisory Committee met and made recommendations that were adopted by the Board of Trustees to implement a comprehensive plan to encourage healthy eating and physical activity. Chapel Hill ISD adheres strictly to our policy to ensure that primary school, elementary school, intermediate school, and junior high school students engage in at least the amount and level of physical activity required by Section 28.002(1). (EHAB Legal)

Fitness: Senate Bill 530 is a new state law designed to measure physical fitness of student in 3rd through 12th grade. Fitnessgram is the assessment tool that will be used by all schools in the state of Texas. It includes a variety of health related physical fitness tests designed to assess cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. Parents can request, in writing, their child's physical fitness assessment results at the end of the school year.
